About
Jenna Sterner is a freelance photographer based in Philadelphia, PA.
Originally from Baltimore, MD, she came to Philly for the role of photographer at Power Home Remodeling. In her four years at Power, she had a focus on covering events and employee culture. As one of two photographers in a company of 3,000 employees, this role required more than just capturing imagery, and Jenna grew her skill set in photo editing, curating and strategizing content, maintaining the images archive, and aligning photography with relevant business needs.
Being a part of the Brand team also meant that on a daily basis she was collaborating with other creative disciplines, hiring and managing freelancers, directing photoshoots, auditing photos across company materials, and more.
Prior to Power, she spent over two years at NPR in Washington, D.C. Jenna began as a photography intern for the NPR Training Team where she assisted with visual strategy across their social media and website, created a stock image library, and photographed Tiny Desk concerts and stories as assigned.
From there, she moved to other roles within NPR including photography support, project management for journalism conferences, and event planning.
Jenna received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Shepherd University in 2017. In October 2018, she attended the Mountain Workshop for photojournalism in Mt. Sterling, KY. She has had work in the National Juried Photography Exhibition at the Delaplaine Arts Center in Frederick, MD. She also has a photo narrative published in the Sparks Journal of Undergraduate Research and Creative Works.
